On Saturday 18 July 2009, young wannabe drivers at Castleview School were given a chance to get behind the wheel under the expert eye of qualified driving instructors.
The school in Woodstock Avenue, Slough held a Fun Day and for the second year running asked Slough based driving school, Clearway Driver Training along to help raise funds for the school while providing an opportunity for children to have fun and at the same time gain their first experience of driving a car in a safe and controlled environment.
Clearway’s Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructors, Paul Kirkpatrick, Peter Fearon, Robert White and Ted Plenty took their dual controlled cars along to the school and put the kids through their paces around a driving course laid out on one of the playgrounds.
The junior learner drivers ranged in age from three to sixteen and judging by the smiles on the children’s faces a great time was had by all!
Sandra Smith from Castleview School said; “Clearway Driver Training raised over £400 with the driving lessons...two afternoons with the driving school and we could forget about lots of our fundraising efforts!”
