On 15 November 2009, Clearway Driver Training celebrated five successful years of providing top quality driving tuition.
Here's a quick look back at some of the high spots for Clearway Driver Training over the last five years!
Clearway Driver Training was founded by Paul Kirkpatrick DVSA ADI, who after a spell working with the UK's largest driving school BSM, decided to start his own company along with his partner, Louise Bartlett.
On 15th November 2004, Clearway Driver Training commenced business.
Paul offered driving lessons in a very snazzy black Mitsubishi Colt with yellow stripes. The very contemporary look of the Colt was an instant hit with local learner drivers!
Right from the start, Clearway Driver Training believed in first class customer service and excellent standards of driving tuition and the company quickly became very popular.
By November 2006, Paul could no longer keep up with the demand for driving lessons and another experienced driving instructor joined the company.
Peter Fearon came to Clearway from the AA Driving School, having previously worked for BSM. Peter was instantly popular and fitted in perfectly, sharing the company ethos and obligatory sense of humour!
By this time, Paul had changed his vehicle and both Paul and Peter were now using identical black Skoda Fabia vRS's!
In April 2007, Clearway Driver Training were approached by the Slough Observer Newspaper who wanted to know how well someone who passed their driving test several years previously would do if they had to take their test again. Paul met up with their reporter Andy Stiff for a mock driving test and the results can be seen in the article "One L of a time"!
In November 2007, Clearway Driver Training were delighted to welcome another instructor to the company when Robert White joined. Rob was previously with Safeway UK and when he arrived, Clearway expanded the areas they covered to include Bracknell and Wokingham.
July 2007 saw Clearway celebrate the milestone of their 100th driving test pass since the company started.
In July 2008, Clearway were asked to help raise funds for Castleview School in Slough by providing driving lessons for children at the school's Summer Fete. A highly enjoyable afternoon of fun was spent by all!
In October 2008, Clearway were approached by another local newspaper who also wanted to do an article about experienced drivers taking a driving test after many years of bad driving habits! Yet again, Paul took a newspaper reporter out for a mock driving test and the results can be seen at Wake-up call for drivers everywhere!
In November 2008, the company grew still further when instructor Ted Plenty joined bringing the number of Clearway instructors to four.
By now, there'd been a few changes of cars, with Paul now using a red Fiat Grande Punto, Peter using a grey Toyota Yaris, Rob with a blue Peugeot 207 and Ted with a light blue Fiat Grande Punto.
In December 2008, Clearway passed another milestone when they achieved their 200th driving test pass.
In July 2009, another successful fund raising afternoon took place at Castleview School with driving lessons at the school's Family Fun Day.
In August 2009, Clearway Driver Training were very proud to become sponsors of Slough Town Football Club.
Clearway Driver Training are rapidly heading towards their 300th driving test pass and look forward to providing top quality driving tuition and excellent customer service for many years to come!
